Back on the old half-fare service with Visa Card
It was very advantageous to purchase a half price card with integrated Visa. The offer gave to holders annual discount of 25.- on the half price rail card and a completely free credit card. Moreover, it was convenient for the users to hold two cards with two separate functions on a single support. This offer now longer exists and has been replaced by the Swiss Pass combined with LibertyCard since last August.
What is the Visa LibertyCard?
The LibertyCard is a credit card that all holders of the offer half price rail with Visa card received when they moved to the SwissPass system. The LibertyCard is not combined physically with the half price rail card and involves significant changes in conditions compared to the previous offer.
The terms of use of LiberyCard

The LibertyCard Plus was automatically sent to users of SBB. The partnership doesn’t seem very honest for users because the most expensive formal was automatically imposed. In addition, this new credit card doesn’t allow users to benefit from a discount on the half price rail card.
The advantages of LibertyCard
The benefits depend on the card type selected. Generally, this credit card allows bonus Liberty points when using to pay. These points can be redeemed against cash. The LibertyCard also includes services related to travel and movement, as travell insurance or baggage insurance. The extent of coverage depends on the type of card.
